The Album Leaf

The album seems to be build around a minimalistic ambient approach, which is what we’ve become used to hearing from LaValle. So far, it’s been hit or miss and for the most part, “One Day I’ll Be On Time” is a miss. There’s no real excitement (with the exception of Story Board), inspiration or aspiration to be found on this album. The sounds mesh together nicely but everything quickly blends together into a forgettable melting pot of new age ambiance. LaValle is quite adept at this but without real fire or power of imagination it doesn’t quite speak out as it should.
